Final USCIS Rule Expands Provisional Waiver Eligibility

Law360, New York (July 29, 2016, 2:36 PM ET) — U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services posted a final rule in the Federal Register on Friday that will increase the number of people who may be eligible for a waiver of inadmissibility based on unlawful presence in the United States.

Specifically, the final rule will expand the provisional waiver process to permit certain individuals who are family members of U.S. citizens and lawful permanent residents, and who are statutorily eligible for immigrant visas, to navigate the immigration process more easily, USCIS said in a press release….
