In Congress: One Last Hurdle

Law360, New York (December 13, 2015, 6:52 PM ET) — A shorter-than-usual column for what is almost certain to be the final week of legislative business in 2015. While much has been accomplished this year, one major legislative obstacle remains: passage of a $1.1 trillion omnibus appropriations measure for fiscal year 2016.

With Hanukkah underway and the Christmas holiday approaching, members are eager to wrap up business and get out of Washington. Nonetheless, negotiations on the omnibus spending measure broke down last week, requiring Congress to enact a five-day extension of federal funding until Dec. 16….
