I think beginning to end, the process of them coming to you for citizenship. Covered that a little bit in a previous question.

Okay. All right. How long would my citizenship application take? It’s impossible to say. And truthfully, if you do it online, it will probably go faster than if you do it by paper. The immigration, USCIS, is allowing you to submit your application online. When I applied for my citizenship, I actually did it online. But there’s so many things that stopped me from having a concrete date after application. Now, and also there’s so many ways for that processing times to change. One of them is where you are. The local office may actually have too many applications that they cannot accommodate you as fast as if you were in a bigger metropolitan area like Orlando or New York, they’ll probably have more officers working there. Number two, your background. So if you’ve lived in a lot of places since you know were 16 years old, the government has to run that background check through multiple places and they have to do the FBI check on you.
So it might take longer if you’ve lived in more places than if you just lived in one place before coming here to the United States. So it’s really impossible to pin it down to a certain amount of time. I’ll just tell you that it’s a lot of things that play into those time factors. I swear to you, earlier this year, I had someone beginning till end, two and a half month, someone that applied before her is still waiting for their biometrics. So there is no way for me to tell you how long it will take. What I can tell you is that you should hire an attorney that will help you through the process because they would know what you need to put on that application, and that will probably make it go faster than if the government has to ask you for documents during the process. So while it’s impossible to tell you how long it would take, I will tell you, hire an attorney to help you because it will go faster.
