What Happens at an Individual Hearing in Immigration Court? Part One

What happens at an individual hearing in immigration court? The individual hearing in immigration court is like you have in a trial in a criminal case or a trial in a civil case. That’s when the immigration judge will find out if you’re eligible for any sort of relief from removal from the United States. Be it voluntary departure or a green card application, or an asylum application that you have, the individual hearing is the hearing that the judge would use the time to determine if you are eligible. I have seen these last an hour and a half, I’ve seen them last five minutes, and I’ve in last more than a week; so it depends on how complicated your case is.
