I can’t say it enough: Thank you to my friends and clients for making 2015 one of the best years ever. In this post, I want to recap some of the most amazing things that happened. Folks, I am pumped for 2016. I know that we will put on a great year for our clients, helping them attain their American dream.
First, I received an approval yesterday for one of the oldest clients. The client’s husband left the US in 2011 (yes! 2011) and has not been able to come back to the US because of the 10 years bar. He was advised to leave the country by prior counsel, and we have been fighting for them for five years now. Yesterday, I got a hardship waiver approved for her, and she was overcome with joy. She was crying on the phone and I has to repeat myself several times before convincing her that I am telling her the truth. I am looking forward to celebrating his arrival to the US.
Second, the biggest news of the year was the establishment of American Dream® Law Office PLLC: Your American Dream® Law Office. I admit that the move was unexpected, but it has been one of the best decisions I have ever made. Life has been so amazing since July 2015. I am looking forward to a great year in 2016. I have so many great cases pending and I look forward to impacting lives by helping our great clients. My clients make all of this worth it.
Third, I was blessed by getting to see my family again after more than 17 years of separation. I admit that Lebanon has changed a lot, but the time I spent there was amazing, and I look forward to going back. I now know how it feels for my clients to be away from their families for long periods of time. I know what my clients feel when they haven’t embraced their loved ones in decades. This just motivates me to do more and work hard to be the best advocate I can ever be.
Fourth, receiving my permanent residence was one of the best accomplishments of the year. It had been an elusive dream for a very long time. For the longest time, I heard the jokes that my friends told about my status. Going through the experience strengthens my belief that we need immigration reform in this country. We need to attract the best and brightest, and unfortunately, we are losing at that right now. Thankfully, these jokes are finally over, and I am looking forward to 2020 when I get to take the oath of citizenship to become a citizen of one of the greatest countries in the world.
Fifth, I am very proud of the great record of success we have had at Yakzan Law. I am very proud of every win, and I know that even when we lose, our clients know that they had the best advocate on their side. I am looking forward to more wins and more great client moments next year.
Lastly, I want to wish everyone a happy 2016. I hope that all your dreams come true. I hope that we will be your first call when it comes to attaining your American dream.
